TODDLER Tuesdays

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the newest program that Purely Play has to offer. For children who aren't quite ready for unparented programs as well as for children approximately 18 to 36 months of age.

Winter

9:30 am to 11:00 am

$15-30/session/child (sliding scale)

Summer mid April - October

9:30 am - 12:00 pm

$30/session/child

This is a parented (guardian) program that gets us outside as much as possible but also provides what I feel are two very important things...

1. Getting our Littles out with other children about the same age is important. This is a valuable experience as they benefit deeply by seeing each other try things, showing others what they know and expressing their joy as they play. Now it isn't always joy as we learn about taking turns, testing our words and trying a new skill BUT it sure helps when a trusted adult is nearby! Practice is the way.

   
   

2. The outdoors offers up certain challenges.... cold, getting dirty, spiders, and no TOYS to name a few...heehee! But the benefits.....now we're talking! Nature has the most amazing things to offer and getting comfortable out there is so healthy for us. Risky play and uneven terrain support our brains and our musculature. Witnessing wildlife in action boosts our curiosity and engagement. Fresh air and sunlight guide our immune systems and sleep patterns. Wow.

Our time together may take us to an outdoor play space - a playground once in a while but more likely to a green space. These places are chosen seasonally. In the winter, it may be a large snow pile, sledding hill or fresh, untracked snow. In the spring, we will visit the newly sprouting forest, puddles/creeks or find crocuses blooming. In the hot summer months we will find sand and water and shade!

There are also some indoor spots that support us in the cold, wind and rain. The classroom in my home, a market, library, Forestry Farm and so on...

All programs are by monthly registration and fees are paid by the 1st of each month.

All locations are communicated the day before in order to best choose a site for learning, safety and enjoyment.
